Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Oyeteck Innovations, which operates Oye Buddy ("Oye Buddy", "we", "us"). By creating an account you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines.

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old (and not older than 80) and legally able to enter into a contract in India.
• You must not have been removed from Oye Buddy before, and you must not be legally prohibited from using it.
• One person, one account. Your profile must be about you, with real photos of you.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at support@oyebuddy.in if you think someone else has accessed it.

3. How Oye Buddy works

Oye Buddy shows people near you with an approximate distance. You match when you both like each other. Subscribers can message without a match; the other person decides whether to reply. Buddy Feed posts are short, temporary statuses that expire. We do not guarantee that you will find a match or that anyone will reply.

4. Your conduct

You agree to follow the Community Guidelines. In particular you will not:

• harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone;
• post sexual content, nudity, or anything involving minors;
• impersonate anyone or create fake or misleading profiles;
• solicit money, run scams, promote businesses, or spam;
• share another person's private information, including their location;
• post anything that is unlawful in India, including content prohibited under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules 2021 (for example obscene, defamatory, hateful, or content that threatens the unity, integrity or sovereignty of India);
• scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with the app.

5. Your content

You own what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process it only to run and improve Oye Buddy. You confirm you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.

6. Safety

We are not responsible for the conduct of users on or off the app. Meet in public places, tell a friend, and never send money to someone you have not met. See our Safety tips. Use Report and Block in any chat. We review reports and may act on them, but we cannot screen every user and we do not run criminal background checks.

7. Subscriptions and payments

• The free tier is the same for everyone: a daily number of likes, Buddy Feed hearts and Buddy Feed replies, which resets at midnight India time (IST). Paid plans unlock features such as unlimited likes, hearts and replies, seeing who liked you, messaging without a match, Rewind and Replay discover. Plans and prices are the same for everyone. Prices are shown in Indian rupees, inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated.
• Online payments are not available yet. Before any payment is taken, we will show the price, billing period, renewal, cancellation and refund terms in the app, and you will confirm them before you pay.
• Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
• Until payments launch, plans may be enabled by the Oye Buddy team at no charge; they can be withdrawn at any time.

8. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time in You → Settings → Delete account; deletion is immediate. We may suspend or remove your account, without refund where the law allows, if you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect users.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Oye Buddy is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the actions of other users. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

10. Intermediary status

Oye Buddy is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and follows the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Complaints about content can be sent to our Grievance Officer at grievance@oyebuddy.in (see the Grievance Officer section).

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will notify you in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use Oye Buddy after that means you accept the new Terms.
